Review of Ramada Resort Shoal Bay

We recently had a weekend away with the whole family and stayed at the Ramada Resort by Wyndham at Shoal Bay and here is our experience of our stay at this wonderful resort

Accommodation

We are a family of four and thoroughly enjoyed the two bedroom apartment that we stayed at in our 3 night getaway to the Ramada Resort Shoal Bay. The apartment is self-contained with a decent sized kitchen with all the cooking facilities and a large fridge you need when you have kids! The apartment also came with two bathrooms – one for the kids and an en-suite in the master bedroom. The ensuite includes a spa bath which I highly recommend using once the kids are asleep! Very relaxing once you’re in.

It also comes with a fairly large dining and living room area, so the kids had enough room to play and watch TV. It also has a large wrap around balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean and a beautiful place to sit in the morning and enjoy eating breakfast and hearing the waves crashing against the beach.

Facilities

The Ramada Resort Shoal Bay has some fantastic facilities that the whole family can enjoy. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool that the kids absolutely loved! The outdoor pool was the winner as it had a really shallow pool for bub and young kids as well as a water play area which was activated when you press a button. The kids would squeal and laugh as they ran through the water play area. There is a deeper pool for the older kids with plenty of room to splash around and enjoy. Surrounding the pool are plenty of lounge chairs for the Mums and Dads to relax and also enjoy the beautiful warm weather.

The indoor pool is heated and is more like a lap pool. It’s also great just in case the weather isn’t so good for the outdoor pool and the kids can still enjoy swimming. There is also a very large hot and cold spa area which I personally loved! That was also very relaxing and the kids also liked splashing about inside there as well.

Right next to the indoor pool and spa is the gym which for a hotel gym I found was very large and really well equipped! For those that can fit in some workout time, you will enjoy this.

The other great facilities onsite were the laundry facilities (I hate getting home only to do a bag of laundry! I love to be able to do it the night before we have to head back home) there is also onsite parking (undercover!) and free Wi-Fi for all guests.

Location

The location could not be better! It is literally across the road from the beach. No driving or long walks needed to get to enjoy the sand and water at Shoal Bay.

There is plenty of food options within walking distance (actually the very same block that the Ramada Resort is situated on). Italian, pizza, Thai and fish and chips is right at your fingertip. I highly recommend going to dine at the Shoal Bay Country Club. It’s a great venue if you have kids and depending on what time of the year you go, they often have activities on a Sunday for kids and can even watch your kids while you eat in peace.
