Review of the Merlin Annual Pass – why it’s worth buying

We have been using the Merlin Annual Pass for 6 months now and I am so impressed with all the benefits and fun that we have reaped from this pass as a family of four. I wanted to list why we love the Merlin Annual Pass and the benefits and savings you could get from having a Merlin Annual Pass for your family!

1, Savings…savings…savings…

The Merlin Annual Pass is usually priced at $79 per person for a family. Currently the Merlin Annual Pass is on sale until the 9 July 2019 – and the price has been reduced to just $65 per person for a family.

So if you want to work out whether it’s worth buying, let me break it down for you. If you visited just one of the attractions, for example Sealife or Wildlife – the entry cost is about $44-$46. If you were to visit either of these attractions twice in one year, then you would spend $88-$92 already! With the Merlin Annual Pass at $79 (or $65 on sale) then you are already reaping savings in just two visits to any of the 11 attractions!

2. Always something new

What I love about these attractions is that they regularly release new exhibitions or events for you to want to go back seeing more and more. During the school holidays, they also have some great activities for the kids. When you sign up to be a Merlin Annual Pass member, you will also receive emails letting you know of the new exhibitions and activities lined up for the school holidays ahead of time. It makes planning on keeping the kids busy so much easier (and cheaper!)

3. Member only discounts

Apart from the ongoing discounts like 20% off Food and Beverage across all their outlets as well as 10% off their Retail outlets, there are also special events or experiences you can get member only discounts on. If you visit any of the attractions with other friends or family that are not Merlin Annual Pass members, they will get 25% off the admission price.

How cool would it be to have breakfast with the koalas? You can do this at WILD Life Sydney Zoo and get $10 off. Only with your Merlin Annual Pass! What about getting up close with the cute penguins with the Penguin Passport Experience at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium? You can get 25% off only with your Merlin Annual Pass!

4. 50% off Birthday Club admissions

Looking to do something different and fun for your child’s birthday? With the Merlin Annual Pass – your child can bring up to 3 friends within 7 days of their birthday, and admission for the 3 friends is 50% off to any attraction! What a fun birthday for your little one and also an affordable day out for you.

5. Renewing is even cheaper

That’s right! At the end of your one year Merlin Annual Pass membership, you will have the option to renew and you wouldn’t believe how much the renewal price is! For just $52 per person in a family, you can get all of the benefits and fun you had first year round. How amazing is that!

As you can see, there is so many benefits and savings to be had by taking up the Merlin Annual Pass. And don’t forget that it is currently on sale reduced from $79 to $65! Sale is now on until 9 July 2019. You can purchase tickets here.
