Review of the Magic Adventures Globe by LeapFrog

In a year where our children’s education has been disrupted due to home schooling (when many of us parents were not prepared or trained for that!) as well as the inability to travel overseas, has seen many parents looking for educational tools to help their children learn in an engaging way.

Interactive

The Magic Adventures Globe is perfect for kids aged 5 – 10 years old. The globe is super interactive as it spins and reacts to touch. It comes with a stylus that is attached to the globe (meaning no lost stylus!). Kids will use the stylus to tap on the globe and discover new countries, cities, animals, cultures and more.

High quality BBC videos

The globe includes a 2.7″ integrated video screen. The videos comes alive when kids are discovering countries, cities, animals and cultures. Each video is short which means kids are consuming small amounts of information about the world in an immersive and visual way. There is more than 5 hours worth of videos, which means they will be kept busy discovering the world around them.

Games

The Magic Adventures Globe comes with three in-built games. The Quiz Show will test your children’s knowledge on different countries, animals and landmarks around the world. Around the World allows the kids to travel around the world in a plane or train while answering questions along the way. Where in the World is a mystery game with kids having to answer questions and follow clues to discover secret items and locations.

Continual learning

There is additional expansion packs that can be purchase with LeapFrog and downloaded onto the globe like dinosaurs, ancient beasts, people and inventions.

Verdict

I have been so impressed with the Magic Adventure Globe. My daughter is 6 years old and has been really engaged with using the globe, watching the videos and discovering information about countries she has never heard before! She will often come to me and say “Did you know….” and tells me a new piece of information she has learnt from the globe. My 3 year old also watches the videos with my daughter and I know is absorbing the information. He especially loves the animals section and asks to watch it over and over again. I love that there is expansion packs that can be purchased (RRP $9) which extends the use of the globe as they learn about more topics beyond what is already in-built. It’s definitely an educational and fun resource worth getting for the kids as they will get years of use out of it. To find out where you can buy the Magic Adventure Globe just click here.
