Review of Jungle Buddies Kid’s Birthday Party

We recently had Mia’s 4th birthday party at Jungle Buddies, and I was blown away by how easy, stress free and fun the birthday party was! In previous years, we have always hosted the parties and it always involved a lot of planning and stress on the day, and most times I was running around so much that I didn’t have time to enjoy it. Having a birthday party hosted by Jungle Buddies was so different and this is why we loved it:

The Venue

I don’t know about you, but I have visited a fair few kids play centres in Sydney over the years and I have to say, Jungle Buddies is one of the nicest I have come across. It really is the perfect party venue for kids. The venue has a lot of natural light that comes through the large windows and isn’t dark like some other kid’s play centres I have been to. The play structure is great and there is plenty of things that will keep the kids busy.

Booking process

The booking process was seamless. Once you confirm the date and time with them, they will send you an email with a PDF of all the details you will need to know about your party. You will also see the menu options you have available depending on the party package you have chosen. You will also receive an invite template you can print out and send out to guests as well as a guest list template to fill out with each child’s name and age. It’s such a well organised kids birthday party venue!

Party inclusions

I was really impressed with the inclusions that are available in the standard package (which is what we had). This included:

  • 1 hour exclusive use of the party room
  • Dedicated party host
  • Games played in the party room
  • Choose from two options from the food standard menu (crumbed chicken & chips, pizza, or quesadilla).
  • Kids are also served fruit and popcorn
  • Each child receives a party bag and the birthday girl or boy receives an exclusive party bag with an extra toy

Face painting and balloon bundle

There is also some really great party options that you can add to the standard package which we chose to do so. We had a face painter that exclusively painted each of Mia’s friends. We also ordered a balloon bundle which included a big sized number 4 filled with helium along with a couple of smaller balloons. This really topped off the party for me, because Mia absolutely loves balloons and it meant that it was one less thing that I had to organise for the party and of course every child loves face painting, and I feel like that made the party that extra bit special and memorable.

Party host

Each party comes with its own party host who will organise the kids to eat as well as running the games and setting up the cake to sing happy birthday. You can also elect to have the party host dress up! The choices we had was Elsa, Snow White, Belle and Superheroes. We asked Mia what she wanted and she elected Belle for her birthday party.

Party room

The party rooms itself I absolutely love. There is a special throne like chair for the birthday girl or boy. The rooms are decorated in a unisex way, with no particular theme which I really like. It’s also roomy enough to allow the kids to play party games. I also love that at the entrance to each of the party rooms, there is a Thank You hand sanitiser. You can quickly get the kids to rub their hands with the sanitiser before they sit down to eat.

Stress free and hassle free event

On the day of Mia’s party, we had to be at Jungle Buddies 15 mins before the party starts. Upon checking in, the Jungle Buddies staff handed us a shoe basket for the kids shoes. We also received a big material bag to carry all of Mia’s birthday gifts. They also gave us a runsheet so we knew what was happening at what time.

For the first hour of the party, the kids were able to play at the play structure, while the adults sat at a booked table and enjoyed some adult platters that I ordered.

To get the kids in the party room, staff make an announcement over the loud speaker and our party host goes throughs the guest list to make sure every child is there.

The kids all take their seats and served their food. Once the kids have finished eating, the party host runs some games with the kids like limbo and musical chairs. In the meantime, the face painter takes one child from the room one at a time and paints their face.

Then it’s time to sing happy birthday and cut the cake as well as plenty of photo opportunities with all the kids.

And of course, no party is complete without party bags for all the guests! And Mia, being the birthday girl, got an extra present in her bag which was a stuffed toy monkey which she absolutely loved.

It honestly was the first birthday party for Mia that I was able to enjoy. I got to talk to parents, take photos, give Mia lots of cuddles and just be in the moment. Unfortunately, when you are hosting a party, you are too busy to really enjoy the party and I have to say – that’s such an invaluable aspect about having your kids birthday party at Jungle Buddies. Not only will they put on an amazing birthday party that your child will love but the whole process from start to end is a hassle free and stress free event.
