Ouch: Tales of Gravity by Kate Sampson

How do you introduce science to young kids in a fun way? Well, Kate Sampson (author) has certainly been able to do that with this easy to read and illustrated book about gravity.

Kate Sampson has a degree in chemical engineering and is a mum herself, so she definitely knows her audience of readers and what she is talking about.

I read this book to my son who is 4 years old and he was totally able to follow the idea of gravity and was actively pointing at the pictures and loved it. He was able to read the word “Ouch!” when he saw it pop up which was also a great way to encourage him to read and recognise words.

At the end of the book, there is a fact sheet and a really easy science experiment that anyone can do at home to reinforce the idea about gravity and how it works.

If you are homeschooling or just wanting to introduce the idea of science to your kids, this is the perfect book to get them engaged and start doing some home experiments as well!
