Did you know that sun exposure in the first 10 years of life plays a large part in determining your child’s lifetime potential for skin cancer? I have a 3 year old and expecting our second in 8 weeks time and I know very well how harsh the Australian sun can be on children’s skin, which is why sun protection is a very important part of our lives. I was really interested in trying out the Bedhead Hats as they have a UPF 50+ Excellent Protection rating, which means I know my daughter is protected from those harsh sun rays. I was also interested to see how the hat would fit on her especially when she takes it to day care and is running around outdoors. I’ve seen hats we have purchased fall off or not fit properly and is then uncomfortable for our daughter to wear.
I’m loving these hats for so many reasons. A part from the UPF rating, I love the range of prints and colours, how well it fits on my daughter’s head, how sturdy it is, how easy it is for my daughter to put it on by herself and my favourite aspect of these hats is the option to get a hat with a hole for the ponytail! That’s always been an issue with other bucket hats we have purchased, if we put her hair in a ponytail then the hat doesn’t fit properly. With the hole at the back of the hat, it means the fit is just perfect! I definitely recommend buying these hats for your kids and I can not wait to try the newborn hats when our bub arrives.
