Graveyard Cupcakes

Our favourite time of the year has arrived! We love Halloween and now, thanks to Carnival Cruises, we will be bringing you some affordable and easy inspiration and ideas to get ready for the scariest day of the year!

Here is a fast and easy Graveyard Cupcake recipe that is not only delicious, but will scare the bejesus out of your guests!

Graveyard Cupcake Recipe

Makes: 24 cupcakes             Prep Time: 30 mins             Baking: 45-50 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ SuperMoist™ devil’s food cake mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • Oreo’s
  • Black writing icing
  • Arnott’s Honey Jumbles
  • Plastic spiders
  • Halloween themed cupcake cases

Method

  1. Heat oven for 10 mins to 160°C. Place cupcake cases in each of 24 regular-size muffin baking tray. Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes, using water, oil and eggs. Bake for 45-50 mins. Cool for 10 mins; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  2. Ice cupcakes with chocolate icing (provided in cake box). Scoop the cream with a spoon from in between the Oreo’s and then crush the Oreo biscuits with a meat mallet. Sprinkle the cupcakes with the crushed Oreo’s (aka dirt). Cut the Honey Jumbles in half and write scary words with the black icing and insert them into the cupcakes. Place plastic spiders on the cupcakes.

There you have your Graveyard Cupcakes ready to eat and scare your guests with.
