Duit Range of Baby Skincare Products

5 Tips on Shopping for Baby Skincare Products

Trying to choose the best baby skincare products for your baby is pretty overwhelming! Go into any baby section at your local pharmacy or supermarket and you will see a ton of brands. But are they good for your baby’s skin?

We asked an expert in the field Jodie Warburton, Registered Midwife and Mindful Mum Sleep Consultant, on her tips on what to look for when shopping for baby skincare products.

Shopping tips

1. Read the label and small print – choose products with natural ingredients as they tend to be more gentle on a baby’s delicate and sensitive skin.

2. What to avoid – products that contain dyes, fragrances, chemicals and talc powders as they can irritate a baby’s skin and sometimes affect their breathing.

3. Watch out for ‘phthalate and paraben-free products’ – these chemicals can be harmful to a baby and should be avoided.

4. Look for ‘PH neutral/PH balanced’ skincare products –  these products won’t disturb the protective layer of your baby’s skin.

5. Choose Australian made products – you can be sure the product has been produced according to our health and safety laws and that you are putting quality products on your baby’s skin.

Standout products

There are two products in their range that really stood out for me as I have never seen anything like them before

Duit Baby Facial SerumBaby Facial Serum

This serum is used to ease rashes on the face caused by milk residue, dribble, chafing and windburn. I remember Mia constantly getting rashes from her non-stop dribbling and I wish I had a serum like this to put on her and alleviate the rashes on her face. It contains natural fruit acids and papaya based enzymes to smooth rough skin. RRP $12.95

Duit Baby Liquid PowderBaby Liquid Powder

We have all been told that we shouldn’t be using talcum powder on our baby, but how can we protect their little bottoms from nappy rashes? This product is talc free and alcohol free and offers the same protection as baby powder! It utilises natural Tapioca Starch as a replacement for talc. RRP $15.95
